Queensland Rail owns and operates a large and diverse motor vehicle fleet across Queensland, when vehicles are replaced or become surplus to operational requirements they are disposed by Public Auction.
Queensland Rail sells a large range of makes and models, including sedans, station wagons, two wheel and four wheel drive commercial vehicles of varying ages and kilometres.
Most vehicles come with fully stamped log books, service history and a Safety Certificate (Roadworthy).
If you are thinking of purchasing a vehicle at auction and are unfamiliar with the auction process, we suggest attending your local auction house as an observer to see the way an auction is conducted. It will also give you an indication of vehicle prices. This way, when you are ready to buy, you will feel comfortable in the auction environment.
If you prefer, you can view vehicles previously passed in at auction and purchase at a fixed price.
Heavy vehicles including buses, mobile plant, trucks and prime movers are also sold through the public auction process with auctions held in Brisbane and Townsville on a monthly bases.
