Queensland Rail is starting to use Quick Response (QR) Codes on some of our communications. QR Codes are simply two-dimensional bar codes, much like we are accustomed to at the grocery store.
You'll notice these codes appearing on items like billboards and in-train posters. These codes allow customers (with the appropriate software on their phone) to access more information by simply pointing their phone at the code and clicking.
All that is required is a camera phone with internet access and QR Code Reader software. Many of the latest 3G phones come with this software already installed, but you may need to obtain extra software - for more information please refer to your user manual or contact your service provider.
To scan a QR Code, simply open the QR Code Reader on your phone and either hover over the code or snap a picture of it. A link to the appropriate web page/ application will appear on your screen which you may click to access the page/ application. Standard data charges may apply once you have reached the web page.
