Queensland Rail is passionate about community involvement. Queensland Rail is the railway industry leader on practical, innovative ways of working with the community. Much of this is delivered through our involvement in a wide range of projects which bring the railway and local communities together.
In 2007 we were awarded the Highly Commended award for the UITP Most Effective Passenger Transit Marketing campaign.
In 2008 we were officially recognised in Queensland Parliament for an extraordinary contribution to community service while delivering Indooroopilly Station Upgrade project.
In 2009 Positive pARTnerships and Norman Park State School were the Queensland State winners of the Abaf (Australian Business Arts Foundations) Toyota Community Award for their collaboration in the station beautification project at Norman Park station.
We were also a state and national award winner for the 2010 PRIA Queensland Award for Excellence in the category of Corporate Social Responsibility for our Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) Community Engagement Program.
Most recently, in 2011, our Positive pARTnerships program received AbaF 2011 Good Practice Recognition (Kingston Station and overall Pos ART program) and we were a Community Education program finalist for the 2011 Premier's Awards for Excellence in Public Service Delivery.
At Queensland Rail, we are committed to the communities in which we operate. We are the heartbeat of our growing state.
