Queensland Rail is replacing the timber rail bridges at Cabbage Treek Creek, near Lowmead and at Redbank Road, Tiaro. These bridges are a part of a wider program of timber rail bridges Queensland Rail is replacing across the network. Under this program, ageing timber rail bridges will be replaced with steel and concrete structures.
Construction works for the Cabbage Tree Creek rail bridge commenced at the end of March 2016. Replacement of the rail bridge occured during scheduled track closures in May and June.
Construction works for the Redbank Road rail bridge commenced at the end of April 2016. Replacement of the rail bridge occurred during a scheduled track closure in early June. Redbank Road will be closed until approximately the end of June to facilitate road works at the bridge location. Traffic is being detoured via Kooringa Road for this period.
Construction impacts may include night works, vehicle movements and noise. Nearby residents will be provided advance notice of any out of hours works.
The construction of these bridges is expected to be completed in late June 2016.
