Tips to avoid crowded trains

Tips to avoid overcrowding

  • Try to avoid the busiest part of the peak period if your travel requirements are flexible. Our busiest services are those arriving in Brisbane CBD between 7am and 9am and departing Brisbane CBD between 4.00pm and 6.00pm.

  • On any given train, some of the carriages may be crowded. However, that may not apply to the entire train. Whenever possible, try boarding a different carriage as there may be more room elsewhere.

  • Spread out along the platform - the middle carriages of a train tend to be the most crowded. If your train is crowded, try boarding closer to either end of the train.

  • After a delay in service has been cleared, it may be to your benefit to let that first, more crowded train pass. There will probably be more room on the second train after service is resumed.
