Following a successful trial program, Queensland Rail is pleased to announce that the Quiet Carriage will become a permanent feature of the City network.
The Quiet Carriage was an Australian-first initiative and has resulted in a lot of positive customer feedback. However, you have suggested that we could improve our Quiet Carriage service by installing permanent signage to make it clear to all patrons where the Quiet Carriages are located. We thought that was a great idea and we are listening.
To allow for permanent signage to be installed on the inside and outside of our trains we have had to shift the Quiet Carriages themselves.
So, from April 16th the volume is going to go down in carriages 2 and 5.
Please bear with us whilst we install the permanent signage across our 207 Quiet Carriages. Whilst we try to keep the disruption to a minimum, we apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time.
The Quiet Carriage guidelines will however remain the same. We continue to ask that users of the designated quiet zones refrain from loud conversation and use of loud musical and mobile devices.
