Project Name: Toowong station upgrade
Location: Toowong station
Project Background:

The Queensland Government, through Queensland Rail and the TransLink Transit Authority, is improving station facilities across the City network.

Toowong station, originally built in the 1980s, received an upgrade as part of this program. Refurbishment works at Toowong station commenced on Monday 16 January 2012 and were completed in June 2012.

These works delivered improved station facilities and increased comfort for our customers while they complete their journey.

 Key Features:

  • Replacement of wall, floor and ceiling finishes, lighting and bench seating
  • Installation of tactiles, tap rails, accessible toilets and low height ticket windows to improve accessibility
  • Improved safety and security systems
  • Refurbishment of the station office
  • Refurbishment of stairs to the station platforms
