Western system 

The Western system is located in Southern/South Western Queensland, stretching from Quilpie in the west to Rosewood in the east (the extent of the Brisbane Metropolitan Area). The system caters for all types of traffic.

System maps divide Queensland Rail's network into four sections - North, South, South-East and Brisbane Metropolitan. Line diagrams detail distances, number of tracks, the type of infrastructure (eg. private sidings) and stations. In accordance with Queensland Rail's Access Undertaking the line diagrams are updated at intervals of no greater than six months.
