The Ipswich/Rosewood line runs west from Brisbane for 56.46 kilometres to Rosewood with a connection from Ipswich, the western extent of the South East Queensland network. This line is a vital link to the Port of Brisbane for the Western line to carry coal from mines west of Toowoomba.
System maps divide Queensland Rail's network into four sections - North, South, South-East and Brisbane Metropolitan. Line diagrams detail distances, number of tracks, the type of infrastructure (eg. private sidings) and stations. In accordance with Queensland Rail's Access Undertaking the line diagrams are updated at intervals of no greater than six months.
