Rapid population growth in South East Queensland in recent years, combined with economic and environmental factors, has increased customer reliance on public transport. Patronage on Queensland Rail City services reached 55 million customers last year.

Our ongoing capital works program is extending and upgrading our assets and capacity, with major investments in new rollingstock, new stations, station upgrades, car parks and customer information systems.

Queensland Rail and Queensland customers will also benefit from upgrades to our network as part of the extensive Major Infrastructure Projects.
