Queensland Rail is committed to ensuring that our customers and staff are safe and secure at all times.
We have formed strong partnerships and working relationships with agencies such as the Queensland Police Service, the Department of Communities, and various councils and community groups. We work with these external parties to enhance safety and security on Queensland Rail property and within the wider community.
We have also developed integrated security and crime prevention strategies that incorporate measures including crime prevention technology, security personnel and alternative justice options.
Here are some examples of how Queensland Rail is working to enhance your safety and security:
- The Queensland Government has invested in excess of $39 million in security initiatives across Queensland Rail
- Queensland Rail has 110 Transit Officer across the network
- SecureCorp private security guards are present on approximately 40% of Queensland Rail city rail services after 6pm from Sunday to Thursday and all services after 7pm on Friday and Saturday nights
- Queensland Rail has a formal partnership with the Queensland Police Squad
