The Westlander has limited provision for passengers with disabilities.
Our onboard staff are available to aid passengers with special needs including assisting them when boarding and disembarking, moving to and from their seat, sleeping berth, accessing the toilets and shower entrance, and if required, serve meals to their seats.
However, our onboard staff cannot lift passengers in any way or provide any form of nursing assistance such as giving injections, medication, helping passengers on or off the toilet pedestal, and washing passengers. Should a passenger require assistance of this kind it is the responsibility of the passenger to arrange for a carer to travel with them.
If you require assistance or you are travelling with your wheelchair, please contact Queensland Rail Travel on 1300 131 722, so necessary arrangements may be made.
