If you're seeking a more modern rail experience, then the Tilt Train is your choice.


Seats Facilities Dining Timetable Fares

The innovative Tilt Train travels at high speed, offering passengers a smooth and comfortable ride thanks to the tilt technology.

You can take the Tilt Train to your favourite Queensland coastal destinations between Brisbane and Rockhampton, and between Brisbane and Cairns.

Whether you're heading for the Great Barrier Reef, Fraser Island, Hervey Bay or any beauty spot in between, the Tilt Train is the perfect choice. Ideal for shorter daytime trips the Tilt Train will get you there efficiently, ensuring you don't miss a moment of scenery along the way.

Facilities

Onboard our Queensland Rail Travel services we only accept the following forms of payment for purchases:

  • Cash (AUD $)
  • Mastercard credit/debit cards and Visa credit/debit cards except those with ' Non - Raised ' numbers or with chips in them instead of numbers.
  • A minimum transaction of $10 applies for card purchases.

Personal cheques (including Travellers cheques) and scheme cards including gift cards are not accepted and EFTPOS is not available.

No cash out facilities are available, so customers are advised to bring cash for the journey to purchase drinks and meals.

  • Showers
    Showers are only located on the Cairns Tilt Train service, at the end of Car F and Car G.

  • Restrooms
    Are provided at the end of all sleeping and sitting cars in all Queensland Rail Travel services.

 

Customers with disabilities

The Tilt Trains have been designed to provide easy access for customers with disabilities.

Our onboard staff are available to aid passengers with special needs including assisting them when boarding and disembarking, moving to and from their seat, sleeping berth, accessing the toilets and shower entrance, and if required, serve meals to their seats.

However, our onboard staff cannot lift passengers in any way or provide any form of nursing assistance such as giving injections, medication, helping passengers on or off the toilet pedestal, and washing passengers. Should a passenger require assistance of this kind it is the responsibility of the passenger to arrange for a carer to travel with them.
