The Department of Transport and Main Roads has issued the Rail Network Strategy whose primary purpose is to:
- inform government transport policy
- support inter-governmental planning
- optimise benefits from investment in rail
- position the rail network to support future demand.
Queensland Rail is required to allow third-party train operators to use our network. Through the Queensland Competition Authority the below‐rail (track) network is subject to an access undertaking which can be found by clicking on this link .
