Project update
Bundamba station upgrade works are progressing well with major activities taking place to install the lift shaft on the station building side in preparation for the new lifts. Works are also on track to raise and extend the station platforms to reduce the curve and gap between the platform and the train to improve customer boarding.
Customers and the local community can expect to see the following activities in March and April 2024:
-
Foundation and construction works for the new lifts and footbridge
-
Station building improvement works
-
Platform shelter works
-
Platform raising and extension works
-
Piling and service works
-
Kiss ‘n’ ride works near station carpark.
Out of hours works
Works will take place during the following planned track closures:
General work hours
Works will generally take place 6am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, unless notified.
Impacts
While driveway access will remain available, there will be changes to entry and exit routes at times between 32 and 40 Mining Street.
From late March, the existing station carpark will be closed and a new carpark area closer to Creek Street will open to replace it. This ensures works inside the station carpark area can progress safely. Please see site workers for bike locker access.
Every effort will be made to carry out these works with respect for our neighbours and customers.
We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we build a better station.
Station closure and alternative transport
To fast-track construction and deliver the upgrade as safely as possible, the station is now closed until later this year while major work is underway.
During this time, trains are running express through the station. Customers can look forward to using the new, modern, fully accessible station in the second half of 2024.
