South Pine River and Tributary Creek rail bridges upgrade project

October 2015  – February 2016

The 100 year old South Pine River and Tributary Creek rail bridges have been upgraded to improve reliability, operational safety and efficiency of services on the Caboolture / Sunshine Coast line in South East Queensland.

Queensland Rail contracted JF Hull Holdings to deliver this essential upgrade project with construction commencing in October 2015 and expected completion by the end of February 2016.

The main works to replace the bridges took place over seven days between 24 - 31 December and required temporary closure of the rail line and around-the-clock construction works.

The original open deck superstructures of the South Pine River and Tributary Creek Bridges were replaced with concrete slab superstructures and a new deck that improves safety and bridge access during ongoing maintenance.

Queensland Rail engaged extensively with potentially affected residents and nearby stakeholders to help them understand the project impacts.
