Bridge Remediation Project (Central Queensland)

Queensland Rail is undertaking remediation works on a series of rail bridges on the North Coast Line in Central Queensland. These works are necessary to ensure that safe, timely and adequate rail services continue to be provided to the region.

Project update (March 2018)

Project works are underway on the bridge over Burnett River in Bundaberg.

Activities to date at Burnett River bridge have involved investigations of the bridge piers, cleaning/sandblasting and painting. Following rehabilitation works on Burnett River bridge, the project will move to the Boyne River bridge (Gladstone) and then Kolan River bridge (Bundaberg area).

Residents and landowners likely to be affected will be notified in advance of works being undertaken, including works which may generate excessive noise or occur after hours.

Works are expected to continue until mid-2019, weather and construction conditions permitting.
