TrackSAFE Foundation

At Queensland Rail we recognise that the responsibility of rail safety extends beyond rail organisations to educational and community service groups, governments, road user groups and the broader community.

That's why Queensland Rail is a proud member of the TrackSAFE Foundation; a harm-prevention charity dedicated to reducing near collisions, injuries and fatalities on the rail network resulting from suicide, reckless behaviour and human error.

Established in 2012 by the Australian rail industry, TrackSAFE offers trauma-related support to rail workers and specialises in rail suicide prevention, as well as level crossing and track safety.

The Foundation encourages an environment of ongoing support and encouragement through its major initiative Rail R U OK? Day. The Foundation has partnered with R U OK? to deliver the annual event –Rail R U OK? Day– and is striving towards an industry where everyone cares to ask "are you okay?" each and every day.

TrackSAFE also coordinates the annual community awareness initiative –Rail Safety Week– held in August each year, designed to engage the community in safe rail practices.
