Some of Queensland Rail's assets along the Wallangarra rail branch line including five rail bridges have been impacted by bushfires.
Queensland Rail crews are in the process of undertaking aerial and ground inspections to confirm the extent of the damage.
The Stanthorpe to Warwick section of the line has been reopened, while a section from Wallangarra to Stanthorpe remains closed.
The Wallangarra branch line is predominantly used by the Southern Downs Steam Railway association for steam train services.
No Queensland Rail customer or freight services utilise the branch.
