Santa Steam Express 2026

All aboard the Santa Steam Express

Celebrate the festive season with a magical journey aboard the Santa Steam Express. Families, rail enthusiasts and visitors of all ages are invited to enjoy a day of heritage, community spirit and festive cheer, departing from Roma Street Station.

Three return services will depart from Roma Street Station on Sunday, 22 November, for a 40-minute return loop around Brisbane.

Enjoy the nostalgic charm and fun aboard a Queensland Rail heritage steam train, travelling in beautifully restored red carriages that are more than 100 years old. With a special visit from Santa Claus, it's a festive experience the whole family will remember.

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Mater Little Miracles, part of the Mater Foundation, helping deliver joy, hope, and vital support to families of babies cared for in the Neonatal Critical Care Unit at Mater Mothers’ Hospital in South Brisbane.

Book your seat on Santa Steam Express and be part of a magical festive experience while supporting a worthy cause.
