We recognise that Queensland small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and First Nation businesses form a fundamental part of the community, promoting financial resilience and independence within Queensland.


By supporting, partnering, and providing opportunities for these businesses, we:​

First Nation​s suppliers​​​
A First Nation business is one that is at least 50 per cent owned by Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples.

​To support our Reconciliation Action Plan​, Queensland Rail has set a target on procurement spend on First Nations suppliers.​​

SME suppliers
An SME is defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (following the Queensland Procurement Policy definition) as a business employing less than 200 people.​

A Queensland SME is an SME with its main business location as Queensland, as registered under their ABN.​​
