Santa has parked his sleigh and picked up his go card this December with the Santa Express hitting the tracks to spread Christmas cheer across South East Queensland's rail network.
Queensland Rail Head of South East Queensland Scott Riedel said the decade long Christmas tradition returns from the 12–16 December as part of Santa's festive commitments.
“Our Christmas wishes have been granted with Santa resting the reindeers and using South East Queensland's rail network to meet those at the top of the 'nice' list," Mr Riedel said.
“Christmas cheer will roll into a different station every day with Santa stopping at Ferny Grove, Morningside, Indooroopilly, and Springfield stations to name a few. For the first time Santa's even taking a ride on the Tilt Train, disembarking at Caboolture.
“There'll be candy canes for all the good little boys and girls and plenty of opportunities to snap a 's-Elfie' with Mr Claus and his band of merry elves.
“Milk and cookies unfortunately aren't accepted forms of payment though – to share a carriage with Santa customers must tap on and off with a valid go card, or use their credit/debit cards or devices at our smart ticketing enabled lines, as normal fares apply.
“Those who aren't able to experience the merriment and festivities on board should visit their local station when Santa is scheduled to disembark - here they can give him their Christmas wish list in person."
