Queensland Rail continues working closely with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) and proponent Broad Construction for Honeycombes Property Group, to deliver the Ferny Grove Central development, a new Transit Oriented Development (TOD) at Ferny Grove station.
Over the past 12 months, Queensland Rail has continued to collaborate closely with its delivery partners to provide more improvements to the Ferny Grove Transit Oriented Development (FGTOD):
Stage 1:
FGTOD Stage 1 is now complete, with a 905-space multi-storey park ‘n’ ride delivered for rail customers, with 25 disability accessible spaces across five levels.
The project ensures current park ‘n’ ride capacity as part of improvements to the FGTOD will be maintained.
Access to the upgraded park ‘n’ ride is currently via Ferny Way while Stage 2 works are delivered.
Stage 2:
Further improvements to FGTOD (Stage 2) are currently underway.
Stage 2 involves delivering the Ferny Grove Central retail and The Fernery Apartments residential precincts, new access roads, a new bus stop, upgraded kiss ‘n’ ride and new taxi ranks.
Stage 2 works also includes additional Persons With Disability (PWD) accessible parking.
Customers will be notified of any temporary access changes in and around the FGTOD precinct that will be required during construction. This includes roadworks on Samford Road proposed for later in 2025, to improve overall access to the TOD.
