Regional station upgrades
Queensland Rail Travel is proud to connect communities throughout the state. Our long-distance services provide critical connections to family, friends, holidays, and medical care. We also deliver unique tourism experiences in some of Queensland's most picturesque locations.
To continue to deliver these critical connections for our customers, Queensland Rail is upgrading some of our regional railway stations to improve customer experience, safety and accessibility for customers travelling on our network.
Rockhampton, Bundaberg and Maryborough West were the first stations announced as part of an initial investment, with feasibility studies carried out for Townsville and Cairns railway stations.
Station accessibility upgrades are achieved through the delivery of accessible station entrances and pathways to the assisted boarding points, upgraded accessible parking and by providing essential station and customer facilities including improved accessible toilet facilities.
These upgrades will also significantly improve customer facilities and experience at each of the stations.
