  • upgraded security cameras and lighting
  • new wayfinding and platform signage
  • new station office and facilities.

Project update

Station closure and alternative transport

To fast-track construction and deliver the upgrade as safely as possible, Lindum station is now closed.

During this time, trains will run express through the station. Customers can look forward to the station reopening in the second half of 2024.

A dedicated shuttle bus service operates between Lindum and Wynnum North stations to assist customers during the station closure.

Bus service information

  • Shuttle bus 229 operates between Lindum and Wynnum North stations, including a stop on North Road opposite Iona College.
  • The shuttle operates every 10-15 minutes in peak hours (7am to 9am and 3pm to 4pm on weekdays), with additional services running to support school start and finish times.
  • Outside of peak hours, route 229 will connect with arriving trains at Wynnum North station.
  • All route 229 services are accessible.

Nearby train stations

Wynnum North and Hemmant are the nearest stations to Lindum and will remain open during the upgrade works.

Limited parking is available at Lindum station for those catching the 229 shuttle.

Lindum Station Precinct Study

Queensland Rail's accessibility upgrade is an important part of improvements planned for the Lindum station precinct at Wynnum West.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (DTMR) recently completed its Lindum Station Precinct Study, with community consultation helping project teams to better understand current and future challenges, and transport opportunities in the area.

As part of this study, DTMR is currently investigating options to upgrade the Lindum station park 'n' ride. Work to improve the Lindum station precinct is now progressing as a result of the study, with planning for immediate safety improvements, short-term upgrades and longer-term solutions underway.

Queensland Rail continues to work closely with Brisbane City Council and all levels of government to plan and deliver these works.
