The Tablelands system runs from Cairns to Forsayth over approximately 230 km. Products carried through the system are primarily sugar and molasses.
The system includes a number of unique tourist and travel train journeys including the:
- Kuranda Scenic Railway
Normanton to Croydon
The Normanton to Croydon part of the system carries tourism passenger traffic on the Gulflander service. This 150 km corridor is stand alone, heritage-listed single track running from Normanton on the Gulf of Carpentaria to Croydon.
